Speaking for Liberty with Students for Liberty
Yesterday I spoke at the European Students for Liberty leaders' seminar about how to approach debate and discussion for liberty. I explained how powerful it is to always seek the truth and place your ego with the truth, whatever it is.
In short, if you allow your ego to align with the truth, you do not have to worry, as you do not become afraid of being corrected or finding weaknesses in your argument. Then, as you discuss with people, read and listen, you become ever more powerful as a debater and commentator.
Then I gave the students some fun, naughty, but completely honest tips about how to deal with opponents and how to have them entangle themselves in their own nets. Maybe I should write about that.
I also discussed some of the most fundamental arguments and lines of thought regarding liberty in my view. If you keep them in mind and ground your argument in them, your case becomes quite robust.
